Technical Consultant

ROLE OVERVIEW

Leveraging your technical background, you are progressing towards a more customer facing consulting approach to merge your technical knowledge with marketing initiatives, especially related to 1:1 messaging and CRM platforms, initially focused on email.

This will allow you to solve complex business problems with the available tools at hand, or even thinking broader of creative ways to solve these business problems and produce quality return on investments.

This means asking clients engaging questions to understand their underlying requirements and potentially any constraints within they need to work. You need to clearly and eloquently convey these requirements and solutions to both your peers and the client, so your documentation and communication skills need to impress.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the sales process with industry and technical expertise
  • Effective business requirements gathering and documentation
  • Solution design, including:
    • Overall solution flow diagram
    • Data model, relationships and schema
    • Quality assurance criteria
    • Development time estimation
  • Solution execution / development, including:
    • Data model creation
    • ETL processes
    • Scripting and solution development
    • API integration
    • Testing
  • Report design and creation
  • Deliver in an effective and timely manner

ATTRIBUTES

  • 3+ years of development experience
  • Overall marketing environment experience
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter
  • Marketing Functional Experience – in order of importance
    • Direct Digital (Email, SMS, MMS & Push)
    • CMS & Content
    • Web Analytics
    • Social (Communities, Content & Content)
  • Technology platform experience
    • ESP experience with platforms like Selligent, SFMC, Adobe Campaign, Marketo or similar
    • Adobe Analytics
    • Tag Managers
    • Google Cloud Platform
  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on your own to solve problems in varied, fast-paced environments
  • Inquisitive, practical and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally
  • Web development skills including
    • HTML (Websites and Email)
    • JavaScript
    • CSS
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of internet architecture and database structures
  • Experience in the mobile application environment desirable
  • Technical writing skills aimed at a non-technical audience
  • Ability to manage technical discussions with both team members, management and clients
  • Proven multitasking skills in handling simultaneous multiple projects
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail and excellent analytical
  • Proven Customer-focused work ethic with high standard of service and quality control
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including a high level of business English grammar
  • Display initiative, self-motivation and deliver high quality results along with meeting all expectations for both internal and external customers.
